1912 born 20th Sept. Bollinhurst Lodge,
Lyme Park, Macclesfield, Chester.
4th eldest of 6 children.

1918 Reggie was out of school and playing with the other two..(Fred & Stan?)

c1921 After the War, the family was living at
Disley, Chester in a house called Drake Carr.

1921 emmigrated with whole family to
New Zealand.(Assisted by
Government).

Started school in Paeroa.
Then when the family moved to Thames,
he finished his schooling at Thames South School.
1926 played rugby for the school.

1928 Left school and went farming in Paeroa for a year

1929 -35

Returned to Thames where he took up
an Engineering apprenticeship at
A & G Price, (Foundary & Boilermakers), till he was 23yrs.

1934 Reggie's parents separate and along with his siblings,
help their mother to buy a home, 9 Edward Street,Thames.

1935 Finishes his apprenticeship and
heads to the NZ Railways Workshops in Lower Hutt.

1935 -1938 12 Jan
Finishes his employment with NZ Railways.

1939 31 Dec 1938
Working for the Westfield Freezing Works
still in employ 14 Jan 1939.

1940

Leaves Westfield, to join the Merchant Navy
Sits his 3rd Class Marine Certificate.
Travels to London to take on a berth.

Visits Drake Carr - Disley

1946 Reg returns to New Zealand after the war via Australia.

1947 - 1955 After the war Reg worked for the
Auckland Gas Works.

Lived in a rented house supplied
by the Auckland Gas Works,
385 Mt Eden Road, Mt Eden, Auckland.

 


1957 After being offered employment with his brother Stan
Reg resigns the Gas Works and shifts to Rotorua.
The first year living at Ngongataha, working for Stan
in the Clothing Business as a sewing machine mechanic.
House was rented at Reeme Street, Ngongataha.

1959 Moved to the new home built at
174 Otonga Road, Rotorua..

1998 23rd July Passed away peacefully
at Rotorua Hospital aged 85yrs.
Cremated at Rotorua Crematorium

1999

His ashes were scattered around his garden at
174 Otonga Road, Rotorua. No placque or memorial
stone has been raised according to his wishes.

After his wifes death in 2009, the family included Reg
on her memorial plaque.
